I can’t remember where I found this recipe, it simply lives on from a notebook I kept from my mission. Good for parties an thing, since it goes a long way and is easier to prep than cookies.

  • 23 cup butter, softened
  • 1 12 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 12 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 12 cup nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Grease 9” x 13” pan (I use butter, can also use cookie sheet if deep enough)
  • Mix butter, brown sugar, vanilla very well
  • Beat in eggs one at a time
  • Stir in baking powder, salt, and then flour, then mix well again
  • Stir in nuts if desired
  • Spread mixture in prepared pan
